On 18-20 May, the closing session of the 17th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum entitled “Management of migration and its correlation and its linkages with economic, social and environmental policies to the benefit of stability and security in the OSCE region” will be held in Lagonisi, Athens.
The OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum is the main annual event of the Organisation’s second dimension and it is at the heart of its economic and environmental action. It provides a forum for the tabling of proposals and ideas by state representatives and international organisations as well as civil society representatives.
On Monday 18 May, at 11:00, the opening of the proceedings will be greeted by Greece’s Foreign Minister and OSCE CiO, Ms. Dora Bakoyannis, and OSCE Secretary General, Ambassador Marc Perrin de Brichambaut. The forum’s participants include the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and former OSCE Secretary General, Mr. Jan Kubis, and the Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Ambassador William Lacy Swing.
